Master’s in Translation Management – dual studies

Translation technology and project management for your successful career

Modern digital forms of communication are new challenges for the translation profession. For translators, this means they have to acquire new tools in the form of modern translation technologies and skills in the areas of project management and quality management.

The three-semester Master’s degree programme in Translation Management offers you the ideal introduction to the future-oriented technologies of the translation industry in combination with professional experience during your studies. You will learn how to optimise the translation process with the help of translation technologies. In particular, you will learn about the areas of machine-assisted and machine translation, pre-editing and post-editing, and terminology management. You will be able to evaluate and use modern technologies and learn how to use these tools in a sensible way. We place a special focus on modern project management methods and concepts for designing the digital workplace for translators, which are of increasing importance for working in the corporate environment.

Due to the dual studies model of the degree programme, you put the skills and theories acquired at the University directly to good use in your work. Therefore, we recommend you take up employment (part-time) with one of the professional partners participating in the programme for the entire duration of your studies.
